Last night I ventured out to make a pretty disastrous seared Ahi dish. Though I think it had to do more with the quality of the fish and less with my skills as a chef. The worst part about the whole affair is that my wife is not particularly fond seafood. So when I do talk her into eating it the quality needs to be top notch. I can’t say that about Costco’s Ahi. Fishy and old tasting, though it was only packaged shortly before hand.
Oh well, the side’s of stir fried green beans and Shitake mushrooms turned out well and Bri made a delish fresh salad with cucumber, scallions, and pumpkin seeds drizzled with a red vinaigrette dressing. So minus the main course it was wonderful.
I think I take it to hard when I make a bad dish. Lets hope it’s only one of a few for 2011.
