Bri and I decided to boycott a traditional valentines day this year. The plan was to have a simple night at home, quite with delicious food instead of paying to be drowned out in the noise of a million other people attempting to get a tabel as some restaurant. I think sometimes we forget how nice it is to simply enjoy the company of someone you love. And Vday is such a lame holiday anyway. Why do I have to wait for one day to let my wife know how much I love her. Luckily I got one of the good ones and she feels the same way…heh. Anyway, we dedcided on a Steak Au Poivre with baked asparagus and fresh rosemary fingerling potatoes baked with olive oil. We started with a fresh salad of butter lettuce, bell pepper, pumpkin seeds and cranberries. All in all it turned out fantastic. The steak was amazing, as per usual. You see I fancy my self quite the steak chef, you should come over and try it sometime. But the sauce that is part of Steak Au Poivre is only good in tiny, tiny amounts due to the overwhelming dairy flavor. The asparagus turned out fantastic, as did the fingerling potatoes. I guess I will let you look at the pics and I am gonna get back to watching The Empire Strikes Back with my wonderful wife. Hope you enjoy your anti-valentines day as much as we did!
